Why 'Guru' Weight Loss Advice Doesn't Work...and What To Do When You're Still Stuck

I was eating natural healthy food, I had access to some of the best supplements on the planet, I had developed a consistent exercise routine, but I was getting fat and sick. It was not the things that I was eating; it was what was EATING ME. It was not so much what I was doing but what I was creating WITHOUT EVEN REALIZING.

andreaLike many other people, I had followed the weight loss advice of more “gurus” than I could count. But year after year…I just ended up with MORE weight and less energy. I was getting FARTHER from my goal.

I went to many places, and spent tens of thousands of dollars trying to stem my physical deterioration. I tried supplements, weight loss programs, and more diets than I care to remember. I tried the stupid gimmicks and the healthy advice. Eventually, after 2 decades of diets, advice, programs and effort, my whole life began to unravel.

I became sick, fat and depressed. I ended up in the hospital, at my highest weight, after 20 years of trying to lose my body fat. My best friends were appalled; they kept searching for the real “Andi”, agile, vivacious and strong. I kept searching for the “real Andi” also.

Then I started doing my OWN research, and experimenting with different strategies that seemed right to me. I guess you couldsay I took the “best” of all the advice I heard, tried it out, and stuck with what worked. Finally, I DID find old self–the agile, vivacious, strong woman I knew I was.

I returned to the same weight I was at 11 YEARS OLD, and my biological age test result showed my body to be 15 years lower than my calendar years.

There is so much to share about that journey…I realized how much ‘guru’ weight loss advice just doesn’t work. And can leave you more disappointed than ever.

But there ARE things that work. Sometimes it’s little adjustments, sometimes it’s counter-intuitive…but there IS a way to transform your body even if you feel stuck like I did.
